Microsoft Teams provides a central hub for teams to have conversations, meetings and share files. Teams makes it easy to communicate, you can chat through text, audio or video and on any device – computer, mobile or tablet. Collaboration is facilitated by the integration of Office 365 services – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Stream (video hosting), Planner (project management) — are built-in, giving you access to files and tools in one place. |

Our new course, Collaborating with Microsoft Teams and Office 365, is designed to help you and your team get the most out the Teams and Office 365. Scenarios explored in the training include: using Teams with your project team, Teams for teaching and using Teams for video conferencing.
Microsoft Teams is currently limited to early adopters, but will be available to all staff and students later this term (to coincide nicely with the training!). Two forms of training are available, a taster session (1 hour) or a full training course that explores the tools in detail. |

Managing Shared Documents with SharePoint – learn how to store, manage and collaborate on shared documents with SharePoint. This course is aimed at all staff and will help you use SharePoint effectively and efficiently. Topics include: uploading documents, file management, properties, sorting and filtering, views, sharing, searching efficiently, co-authoring and version history. Leads to the SharePoint Document Manager digital badge. |

SharePoint Administration Fundamentals – learn how to customise and configure SharePoint team sites and document libraries to suit your team’s needs. This two-part course is aimed at all team site administrators, whether that’s an entire school/unit site or a small project site. Topics include: configuring properties and views, permission fundamentals and customising site design. Leads to the SharePoint Administrator digital badge. |

Successful completion of each SharePoint course leads to a digital badge. A digital badge is a modern way to certify and share your skills. Your badges will be recorded in your staff record of learning and can be integrated into digital CVs (e.g. LinkedIn) as evidence of your digital capabilities.
SharePoint is used to store and manage shared documents, OneDrive for Business is for personal documents. Managing your Personal Documents with OneDrive is aimed at all staff and will help you make the most of OneDrive, the course covers topics such as accessing OneDrive from anywhere, sharing options, real-time collaboration and version history.
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is a globally renowned Microsoft qualification programme that certifies expertise in Office software. At Cardiff Met we have combined the Microsoft Office Specialist qualification with our bespoke training programme to offer high quality, relevant training that allows you to prove your skills through MOS certification.
Our MOS schedule for the Spring Term was published just before Christmas, but there are still places remaining and additional sessions have now been scheduled. |

Learn the requisite technical skills and 6 design principles behind creating great presentations. This course explores the full range of PowerPoint features enabling you to create slides to perfectly complement your presentations.

Microsoft Office Specialist Excel
Learn how to analyse, manipulate and present data effectively in Excel. The course uses Cardiff Met specific spreadsheets and scenarios, together with official Microsoft courseware to provide comprehensive resources to master the principle features of Excel.

Prezi is an alternative to PowerPoint, it utilises a "zoomable canvas" as the basis for delivering dynamic, engaging presentations. Our Presenting with Prezi course aims to give you the knowledge and skills to be able to design, create and present memorable presentations using Prezi. The course has been completely updated to incorporate features introduced by the latest version of Prezi – Prezi Next.
Designing Effective Surveys with Qualtrics examines how the powerful, yet intuitive, Qualtrics software can be used to create, distribute and analyse survey data. This term we are running a “taster” version of the course – a 2-hour session that introduces core concepts and tools that you can explore more fully at your own pace. So if you have always been curious about Qualtrics, but haven’t been able to attend the full course, this session is for you.
Business Objects training is available for staff who use the business intelligence software to report on corporate data, such as data held in the Student System. There are two levels of training scheduled:
- Business Objects: Introduction this course will build your confidence in using both the Business Intelligence Launch Pad and the Web Intelligence reporting tool. Topics covered include: viewing and organising personal and corporate documents, formatting reports and organising and summarising data.
- Business Objects: Intermediate will extend your Business Objects knowledge and skills, enabling you to produce and share complex and well-presented documents. Learn how to: create and use document templates, use multiple queries and reports and create formulae.

Dysgu sut i ddadansoddi, trafod a chyflwyno data'n effeithiol drwy raglen Excel. Mae'r cwrs yn defnyddio taenlenni penodol a sefyllfaoedd Met Caerdydd, ynghyd a deunyddiau cwrs Microsoft ar gyfer darparu adnoddau cynhwysfawr i feistroli prif nodweddion Excel.
